Core Services

Current services provided by this Core include:

• Clinical Research Nursing Services
  Protocol management including case report form (CRF) development, patient screening, scheduling and management of study visits, data entry into RedCAP

• Phlebotomy
  Venous Blood draw

• Specimen Processing, Storage and Shipment
  Sera, plasma and viably preserved peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), urine, cerebral spinal fluid (CSF)

• Body Composition and Fitness
  Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and other anthropomorphic measurements, bone density and whole body (fat, lean tissue) composition measurements by dual energy absorptiometry (DXA), hand grip

• Neuropsychological Testing
  Neuropsychological performance assessment (Investigator will need to be familiar with and be willing to train psychometrist on the specific neuropsychological test to be performed)

• Point of Care Services
  Portable assessment of lipid (total, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides), hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), CRP

• Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
  Assessment of total body water

Clinical resources available include:

• Research clinic room use
  Access to UH Clinics at Kakaako

• Small equipment
  Blood pressure equipment etc.
